Materials Needed:

Cricut Machine
Black Vinyl (or whichever color you prefer)
Transfer Paper
Clear Ornaments
Ornament Stuffers (I used mini bows and shredded filler but some faux snow and greenery would be super cute!)
Free “Ornaments” Printable

(sorry for the lack of pictures – was in a rush to get these bad boys finished! ☹️)

First –

Upload the printable to Cricut and weld the design clearing all the spaces in-between the letters to make sure those will be cut. For a more step-by-step (with photos!) on how to do this – check out this post here.

Second –

Load your mat and vinyl onto the machine and let it do all the work for you… (Sort of). Once it has been cut, the tedious weeding part is next to get the tiny little cut marks out.

If you do not have the weeding tools, a toothpick or the end of a pair of scissors has worked just fine for me!

Third –

Apply the vinyl to the transfer paper making sure you are pressing down enough to burnish everything well. Peel away the tape and transfer onto your ornament.

When working with ornaments or any objects that are rounded, it can get a bit tricky when applying the transfer tape. Honestly – I will cut some slits to somewhat make it easier but I haven’t had the best luck with that. Often times I’ll just hope for the best and if a few letters or a part of the image comes on crooked I’ll do my best to peel a bit of it back off and re-apply it.

Usually does the trick. *Usually*

Fourth –

Stuff your ornaments with whatever fillers you decided on and viola! Your beautiful and easy ornaments are completed.

For those of you who would like to create your own Rae Dunn inspired ornaments or other projects, the font I used is called “The Skinny” and was a free download from www.dafont.com.

Hope you all have a safe and happy (& crafty) holiday! 🎄

xo,
