DIY Holiday Wine Glasses Using Cricut – Free Printable

Hi all! With Christmas quickly approaching (still can’t believe it is almost Christmas) DIY projects are my go-to and with my new Cricut machine – it couldn’t be any easier!

I made these hand lettered holiday wine glasses for a Christmas gift this past weekend and I am obsessed with how they turned out and they were SO EASY to make.

Once you upload the image, you will select “SIMPLE” on the right side of the screen and then you will have to individually selected the gray areas on the image to create the cut marks.

You can also chose to keep the floral design colored in by just leaving those small areas gray. I did both options – see photo above (or at the bottom) to determine which way you like best!

Once all cut marks have been created, press continue and then you will chose the “SAVE AS CUT IMAGE” option. Press save – and then click your image in the “Recently Uploaded Images” section that will appear on the next page.

Shrink it down to the size of your choice. I chose to go with 3.5 x 3 for my images.

Once you’ve chosen your size – click “Make It” and load your mat with the black vinyl.

Don’t forget to double check the dial is turned to vinyl!

Second Step: WEEDING

Next use your Cricut weeding tools to get rid of the cut out or negative spaces. If you don’t have the weeding tools the tip of a scissors or toothpick works just fine.

Third Step: TRANSFER TAPE

Sowie, no picture. Must have been too excited to apply 😬

Once the wedding has been completed, apply the transfer tape over the design and push firmly to make sure the design will fully transfer over to the tape!

Fourth Step: APPLY VINYL

Grab those wine glasses and apply your design! Press the design firmly onto the glass to again make sure that the vinyl will transfer nicely before peeling off the tape. Because the glasses are rounded, I would suggest cutting slits into the transfer tape to prevent the design from bubbling or forming creases.

Hope you enjoyed this easy DIY! What are your holiday DIY projects that you’ve tackled this holiday season? Share below – I would love to hear!
